I have put together a set of free, genealogy lessons by email. They will not cost a dime and you can unsubscribe at any time. My goal is to bring new people into the hobby and get them off to the right start!
Each lesson contains my thoughts on genealogy. I review research methods and best practice plus introduce you to products and service offered in the genealogy industry, giving pros and cons of each. My focus is to encourage organized record keeping and source citation while keeping genealogy fun. From beginner to expert, there is something here for everyone!
"Kevin, you inspire me and your lessons lead the way to my discoveries. I am SO thankful I signed up for the free lessons and found you! You are wonderful!!!" - Cindy N.
"Thank you very much for the genealogy lessons. They are excellent. I find them to be very practical and most useful...Keep up the good work." - Harold H.
Kevin, I am really enjoying your lessons and thank you for letting me participate." - Coral G.
My name is Kevin Lett
and my story is pretty simple. I am married to a girl that I
dated for most of high school, all through college
and for a year thereafter. We were married in 2000 and had our first
child in 2004, a little girl. We also have a son born in 2007.
I am a graduate of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg with
a degree in History and a minor degree in Art & Art History. I have
conducted genealogy research for 19+ years; I am a county coordinator
for the USGenWeb Project and spent time with the Library of Virginia's
"Dictionary of Virginia Biography." I am the former editor of "The
Lett Gazette". I have also compiled a book on the 1850 census of York
County, Virginia. My personal blog is known as
Virginia Family Tree.
To pay the bills, I work as the production manager for a mobile
robotics company in Goochland County, Virginia. I have been with that
company since 2001. My hobbies consist of genealogy, home
remodeling and playing softball. I love watching football and
prefer the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings.
That is probably more than you ever wanted to know about me!
